Can I use Deep Clean in carpet cleaning machines, upholstery cleaning machines or extractors? Although we have heard of people using Deep Clean in carpet cleaning machines or in upholstery cleaning machines, you should CHECK WITH THE MANUFACTURER of your particular machine for their recommendation. Different manufacturers have specific requirements regarding the types of detergents that can be used in their machines. However you may want to use Deep Clean BEFORE shampooing and/or AFTER shampooing to deal with specific stains. [Back to the Top]

Can I use Deep Clean even after I have shampooed my carpet? Yes, it is safe and EFFECTIVE to use Deep Clean even after cleaning or shampooing your carpet or upholstery. You can also use it before shampooing to target problem areas. [Back to the Top]

Can I use Deep Clean in the washing machine, or in hand washing? We do not have specific lab reports as to how to use Deep Clean in the washing machine. Since we recommend using Deep Clean full strength in most cases, we cannot guarantee how well it will work when it is diluted, nor do we have information on how it reacts with delicate fabrics or garments that require special treatment. Of course be sure to test all garments for color-fastness and delicacy before using. You may also want to spot-treat with Deep Clean BEFORE your regular wash. [Back to the Top]

How do I know whether to use Deep Clean or Stink Free Instantly Urine Odor Remover?
Deep Clean contains a sudsing detergent, and Stink Free Instantly Urine Odor Remover does NOT. Use Deep Clean when you also want to BOTH remove stain and odor. (See instructions below.) Use Stink Free Instantly Urine Odor Remover when you want to apply it and LEAVE IT alone to let it do its work to remove urine odor. Stink Free Instantly Urine Odor Remover does not contain a detergent, so that you do not have to rinse it out or wash it out. [Back to the Top]

Do I need to use BOTH Deep Clean and Stink Free Instantly Urine Odor Remover to thoroughly remove urine odor? Choose Deep Clean in areas where you want to scrub out stain (as well as remove the odor), since Deep Clean contains a sudsing agent as well as Urine Odor removers. Use Stink Free Instantly Urine Odor Remover in areas where you only need to worry eliminating the odor, since it is a leave-in product that does not need to be removed after the area is treated. Both products thoroughly and permanently remove urine odor. [Back to the Top]

How I use Deep Clean? Use Full Strength – DO NOT DILUTE. Do not use in a spray applicator on carpets, upholstery or similar surfaces. Urine is a hot liquid that leaves your pet at over 100 degrees, and quickly spreads UNDERNEATH carpet and INTO upholstery. Surface spraying will NOT sufficiently reach and neutralize deep contamination.

Directions for using Deep Clean: IMPORTANT! Remove any solid residue and blot up excess moisture. Check for color fastness. If carpet is not colorfast, do not use.
  1. COMPLETELY saturate the contaminated area. (For urine contamination, saturate an area much larger than the surface stain, to saturate all the contamination that has spread UNDER the carpet. Wait 4 to 5 minutes for solution to break down the contamination. BE PATIENT.
  2. Using a soft clean white cloth, vigorously rub the area into a foam, then blot up. Repeat this process 3 to 4 times until stain and contamination have been removed.
  3. For urine contamination, COMPLETELY resaturate the area to provide additional solution to break down, separate and lift up any remaining residual contamination. Wait 2 to 3 minutes, blot HARD and then let air dry. DONE! **IMPORTANT! For urine contamination, saturate an area wider than the surface stain. Urine is absorbed both horizontally and vertically, in a pyramid-like pattern which makes the contaminated area below the surface larger than the surface stain. [Back to the Top]

It looks like the stained area became soiled again very quickly. Did I do something wrong or did the product not work? After the stain and odor have been removed and the area is dry, wipe down the area with clean water and a (white) cloth to completely remove surface cleaning agents. If the surface cleaning agents are not THOROUGHLY removed, they will continue to work, (cleaning dirt off of the bottoms of feet and shoes) and the area will become RE-soiled more easily. This is an advisable practice with ANY cleaning solution. [Back to the Top]
